SNDT WOMEN’S UNIVERSITY

SNDT Women’s University is the First Women’s University in India as well as in South-East Asia. The University was founded by Bharatratna Maharshi Dr Dondho Keshav Karve in 1916 for a noble cause of Women’s Education. The first five women graduated in 1921 from this university. The university headquarter is located at Churchgate Campus, Mumbai and the other two campuses of this University are at Juhu, Mumbai and Karve Road, Pune.

PVDT College of Education for Women’ started as a department in SNDT Arts College, Mumbai in 1951. In 1959 it was converted into a full fledge college with Marathi and Gujrati medium B.Ed. classes. Since then the college has been actively engaged in teacher training program. It has been preparing women educators for over six decades. Our college is conducted college of SNDT Women’s University. It is aided college with qualified and learned faculty.
